Alaska Mill and Feed Joins Forces with Skagit Farmers Supply
We have some exciting news to share with you!
Alaska Mill and Feed is being acquired by Skagit Farmers Supply, a farmer-owned regional cooperative in the Pacific Northwest with over 90 years of experience supporting agriculture and rural communities. This partnership strengthens our ability to serve you while staying true to the values that have made us your trusted local supplier.
We’re excited about this next chapter and look forward to continuing to serve you — our customers, partners, and community — with the same care and commitment you’ve always known. Thank you for being a valued part of our story and our future.
What This Partnership Means for Alaska:
Same Team, Same Leadership
You’ll continue to see the same trusted Alaskan leadership and familiar faces who know our community best. The focus will remain on our employees so they can focus on our customers. We remain a locally run, Alaskan business — employing Alaskans, serving Alaskans, and supporting the Alaska market. Our feed and other manufacturing will continue to be done right here in Anchorage, made to the same Alaska-specific standards you know and trust.
Enhanced Resources, Better Service
With the added strength of AFCO Distribution and Skagit Farmers Supply, we’ll have greater access to products, services, and industry expertise — all to better serve our local customers. Both companies already do business in Alaska and understand the unique needs of Alaskan communities.
Shared Values and Community Commitment
Both Alaska Garden & Pet Supply and Skagit Farmers Supply are deeply committed to employees, community, quality, and supporting local businesses. Our community is our focus — we’re proud to be involved with organizations that make a difference in Alaska, including Bean’s Café, the Food Bank of Alaska, 4-H, FFA, and Local Animal Welfare Organizations. Skagit Farmers Supply shares this same spirit of giving, actively supporting youth programs, agricultural education, and local non-profits throughout the Northwest.
Built on Experience, Growing for the Future
We’re using Skagit Farmers Supply’s proven cooperative model and resources to strengthen our business for the long term — ensuring a stronger future for Alaska Garden & Pet Supply and the communities we serve. Skagit Farmers Supply invests locally with a long-term focus and no private equity investment.
