Nootka Lupine grows extensively in the coastal areas and roadsides of Southcentral Alaska. It is a hard shelled seed and requires scarification to help germination. This can be done by lightly sanding one side or end with medine to fine grit sandpaper. Lupine are very beautiful but are also poisonois, especially the seed. DO NOT EAT!

Height: Can grow to 5' Feet, but often 1' to 2' feet in the wild.
